RECTOR CHARGES POLY SECURITY PERSONNEL ON IMPROVED SERVICE DELIVERY
The hardworking Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Engr. Dr. Michael Arimanwa FNSE has charged personnel of the security outfits in the institution to be proactive to their duties in order to ensure improved service delivery.
The Rector made this known yesterday in a security summit which he personally convened at the Council Chambers of the polytechnic.
Miffed by their negligence and obvious dereliction of duties, the Rector warned the security guards and their supervisors to be alive to their duties or prepare to face the consequences of their failure.
He recalled several incidences where their performance was called to question, adding that the institution was not prepared to suffer any more losses under their watch.
After taking responses from the supervisors of the personnel, the Rector directed them to report the following day at the Rectory for a headcount and further briefing. He emphatically stated that security personnel should be vigilant at all times so as to forestall any breach of security.
The Rector also reiterated the ban placed on student drivers and unauthorized bikers, maintaining that the Federal Polytechnic Nekede under his watch would not condone any act of indiscipline.
Present at the summit were the Principal Officers of the Polytechnic comprising the Deputy Rector (Academic), C.C. Onyemenonu, Deputy Rector (Administration), Dr. Uzoma Ibeaja, the Registrar, Mrs. E.C. Anuna, the Bursar, V.N. Anyanwuocha and the Librarian, Dr. Chris Enyia
